Float through beautiful Gore Canyon in a one or two-person kayak, or what we river folk call a duckie.

KODI’s Upper C Full Day Duckie trip takes you on mellow water and chill rapids, making it a great stretch of river to try your hand at paddling your own boat.

Jump in your own duckie or paddle with a friend and soak in the scenery, look for dinosaur tracks, and enjoy class I – class II rapids. Please note, you won’t be totally alone. All duckies follow a guide.

As a bonus, when the river is low, you might take a short excursion to natural hot springs!

Please bring closed-toe shoes or water sandals (strap around the ankle), rain jackets, hats, and shades when rafting the Upper Colorado River. Also, wetsuits, booties, and splash tops are not available for rent on this raft trip because the Upper Colorado tends to be warmer than the rest of our raft trips and there’s little chance you’ll get wet from the rapids. Also, no blue jeans!

Add a duckie to any raft trip. Cost is $40 for half day and $80 for full day. Anyone paddling a duckie must be 14 years or older.

Cool fact: It makes sense to think that a duckie is simply not going to hold up like a hard-shell kayak. However, the truth is they are known to hold up just as well… if not better.

There are a variety of heavy-duty materials used in constructing duckies, such as PVC, Hypalon, and Nitrylon. These materials are unbelievably tough and sturdy. The fabrics also tend to be multi-layered and heavily reinforced, and the seams are either electrically welded or glued.

*Check-in is required 30 minutes prior to departure time.
