Want an Upper Colorado River whitewater trip that’s a little different than your typical raft trip? Try a duckie trip.
A duckie is a one or two-person inflatable kayak, and they’re great for trying your hand at paddling your own boat.
Duckie float trips are super fun for the whole family, and the Upper Colorado River provides the perfect location for learning how to paddle in a place that will awe you with its stunning natural beauty.
KODI Rafting’s “Upper C” Half Day Duckie trips offer mild rapids, spectacular wildflowers, sheer granite canyon walls, and forests of blue spruce and Douglas fir trees. Guides also offer information about the area’s history, flora, and fauna. Please note, you won’t be totally alone. All duckies follow a guide.
Please bring closed-toe shoes or water sandals (strap around the ankle), rain jackets, hats, and shades when rafting the Upper Colorado River. Also, wetsuits, booties, and splash tops are not available for rent on this raft trip because the Upper Colorado tends to be warmer than the rest of our raft trips and there’s little chance you’ll get wet from the rapids. Also, no blue jeans!
Anyone paddling a duckie must be 14 years or older. Sorry no tandem duckies – all crafts are for single paddlers!
Cool fact: Inflatable kayaks are now used by the U.S. Coast Guard, the Army, and the Navy.
*Check-in is required 30 minutes prior to departure time.
